Payment:
The ARTIST understands this is not a paid activity. However, the ARTIST will receive photos and video footage of their work at no cost to them.
Additionally, choreographers will receive 1 complimentary ticket to use for themself at the show their work is performed in. (This does not apply to Dancing Conversation choreographers as that is a free event.)
Performers will receive a discount of 50% off one masterclass. (Use code PERFORM50 through our payment portal.
Responsibilities of the ARTIST:
Prepare a dance work to be performed at the Choreography Showcase, Dancing Conversations or Main Stage Concert
Provide a high-quality performance for audience members
Arrive on time or early to all scheduled events (this includes and is not limited to Technical Rehearsal, Call-Time, and Performance)
Communicate any special requirements or needs to West Michigan Dance Festival Directors in a timely manner.
Responsibilities of West Michigan Dance Festival:
Provide necessary support and resources for the ARTIST to conduct the performance effectively.
Promote the ARTIST’s performance as part of West Michigan Dance Festival.
Ensure the smooth operation of the event and address any issues that may arise during the performance's duration.
Handle all registration and operations prior to ARTIST’S performance
Cancellation Policy:
In the event that either party needs to cancel or reschedule, they agree to provide reasonable notice to the other party. West Michigan Dance Festival reserves the right to cancel this contract at any point for reasons including but not limited to Sickness, Financial Hardship, Low Attendance, Death, Injury, Act of God, and additional items.
It is understood by both parties that this is a contract for services only and is not a contract for employment. Artist(s) shall not be considered employees of West Michigan Dance Festival at any time. All parties mutually agree that each party may cancel this contract and be released from any liability or damages if any party is unable to fulfill the terms of the contract due to an Act of God or any other legitimate condition beyond the control of either party. If for any reason beyond the Artist(s)’s control, the Artist(s) cannot fulfill this contract for services on the dates indicated, every effort will be made to promptly notify the West Michigan Dance Festival Directors. The Artist agrees to protect, save, and hold harmless and indemnify West Michigan Dance Festival and all parties such as staff, board members, agents, etc. against any and all liability whatsoever for injury or death of any person or persons, or for loss of or damage to any property, occurring in connection with or in any way incident to this contract.
